We invite you to join us on a 14 days (13 nights) Antarctic photography tour to the Antarctic Peninsula in November 2019. WildPhoto Travel will be chartering the entire ship, MV Ushuaia, for a PHOTOGRAPHER the ONLY expedition early in the season. With the changes done to the Antarctic expedition fleet, our ship is now one of the smallest expedition ships available. To further give you the best experience possible, we have chosen to run this photography trip with reduced capacity and increase your comfort. There will be a maximum of 74 guests, all fellow photographers with a wish to make the best of landings and good light. Get ready for an exciting Antarctic photography tour.
The main focus on this photography trip will be penguins, seabirds, seals, landscape and ice. The reason we choose to offer an early season Antarctic photography tour is that we love photographing winter landscapes with clean white snow, and birds early in the breeding season (courtship, nest building, etc.). Few photographers have visited Antarctica in early November, and we believe this will give you great photo opportunities. We will be landing early in the morning to get the best light conditions, which you will miss on ordinary tourist trips. This has proven extremely successful in previous years.
We will schedule longer stops than usual when going ashore in order to provide participants with enough time to get excellent pictures. We use 7 zodiac boats to get ashore or when searching for the wildlife at sea.
With 9-10 full days near the Antarctic Peninsula, this Antarctic photography tour is for nature photographers who want more quality time with the Antarctic wildlife and landscape.

Day 0 We recommend everyone to have at last one night in Buenos Aires or Ushuaia, before departure with the ship.
Day 1 Departure from Ushuaia, sailing out the Beagle channel, starting our Antarctic photography tour.
Day 2 At sea, heading toward Antarctica.
Day 3 First landing at the South Shetland islands.
Day 4-12 We are visiting some of the best areas for wildlife and landscape photography, such as Antarctic Sound, Deception Island, Astrolab and south toward Lemaire channel. At this time of the year, we expect areas like the Weddel sea, Lemaire Channel, Neko, etc to be closed with ice, but there will be other areas for us to explore and photograph.
Day 13 At sea heading toward South America, Ushuaia.
Day 14 Return back to Ushuaia. Transfer to your hotel or fly directly home.

Our expedition ship is comfortable with different cabin options. We offer 26 TWIN cabins with private WC / shower (except #413), and 18 SINGLE cabins (usually sold as twin cabins).
