Lauren Steyn, Mozambique

Having grown up in the bushveld of the Gwaii Valley, Zimbabwe, I learnt to appreciate wildlife at a young age, something I endeavor to pass on to my boisterous, fun loving son.  Wildlife has fueled my passion for art, which for many years I abandoned for a normal day job, but recently I have rediscovered my passion for art and I am now following my heart.

Besides art one of my other passions is being a citizen scientist taking photographs of all sorts of weird and wonderful creatures to help map on iNaturalist. It is very addictive once started, but butterflies are my utmost favourite. When in the bush you will often find me chasing butterflies like a mad lady with my camera.

Even though I am originally from Zimbabwe, I now live in Mozambique which offers many places for me yet to explore.
